  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

    Agency: Douglas County Health Department

    Follows up with families when children have been exposed.  If soil has been cleaned by the EPA, the Health Department provides families with a free vacuum and provides a dust check and education.

    Housing lead inspections for families with children under the age of 7, when requested by the property owner.

    General lead information for the community, including information on home maintenance and lead-safe work practices.  Provides landlord and tenant information about lead and disclosure laws.

    Networking, recommendations, and support for medical professionals and other agencies.
